As mentioned, my name is Melancholia. I'd like it if you just called me Mel.

I am a polyamorous trans girl probably, with anxiety. I struggle with talking sometimes, either talking too much or not enough. This website exists sort of as a place for me to partake in the former without bothering anyone. You may find this page very rambly and wordy as a result. Sorry about that.

I am an extremely sentimental girl. I get attached to things very easy, and it's not very hard to make me emotional. I miss things and people very easily. I am not a happy person, but I love so many things, and encourage others to share their love. I don't always talk a whole ton, which makes me feel kind of bad. I get nervous and worried about talking to people, and this sometimes makes me quiet towards people I really care about. You'll often hear me say something makes me nostalgic, and it's often very true. That's part of why this website exists.

Music is probably the thing you will find me talking about the most. I'm a mess of music tastes and genres. I have a preference towards loud noisy stuff, with Noise Rock probably being my favorite genre. I also really like emo, sludge metal, metalcore, post-hardcore, math rock, shoegaze, digicore. My name, actually is in reference to two songs, linked here and here. I'd love to start a band.

Old computer and old web/webcore stuff is something I've always had a bit of an interest in, but didn't really commit myself to until sometime in 2024. I went through a lot of changes mentally that I won't go into, but it somewhat started with playing the Disillusion games and experience kaizomario1234's vrchat worlds. I just love the freedom of expression, the encouragement to be yourself with older internet. I have quite a few older game systems, my main played ones because the original xbox and playstation 2, which I have hooked up to an old Toshiba CRT TV. I also have started collecting old VHS tapes, mostly of anime. I also have a Windows XP computer, with plans to get a CRT monitor for it, and hopefully I will have a Windows 98 setup soon. I absolutely adore old computers. I'm not the most knowledgable from the tech side of them, but I'm learning. I primarily use the XP system to play old games and browse old now-defunct websites.

You can find me VRChat quite often. I don't play quite as often as I used to, but I'm trying to fix that because I do have a lot of love for the game and the expressiveness of it. It's one of the few places I feel like me. As far as you need to know, I look exactly like all of my avatars. I'm generally in friends+ or private instances, but if you see me around somewhere, please say hi. I appreciate it.

Dolls, ball jointed and mechanical jointed, are a newer hobby I've picked up. I've been interested for years, but they were always out of my affordability until recently. I currently have one 1/6 doll, and a few smaller blind box dolls. I hope to get more, but I like having them just sitting around to take pictures of. I'd love to get some more at some point, or see other people's.

I spend much of my time playing video games. I usually like weird niche titles. Stuff like Cruelty Squad, Disillusion ST, Peripeteia, PsychoPomp. My favorite game though is Signalis, followed by Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines. I like games that try new things, no matter how jank and scuffed they may be. Expirementation and passion will always be what holds my attention over a polished but soulless experience. Niche titles from smaller creators will almost always have my interest, even if the gameplay isn't entirely my thing. Please talk to me all about weird games you love, or games you want to make, I would love to hear about it. Also a Dark Souls 2 defender. Arknights player.

Anime and Manga are another big interest of mine. As mentioned, I collect quite a bit of anime VHS tapes. My favorite anime is Boogiepop Phantom. I also really love White Album 2, Ping Pong The Animation, and Texhnolyze. That said, the anime I think the most about is MD Geist. Please watch MD Geist. It's incredible for all the wrong reasons. I also have quite a few anime figures, both official and knock off because I kind of adore them. There's just something really charming to me about them, especially bad ones.

I watch wrestling quite a lot. Mostly All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. I also really like Joshi wrestling. Everything from the characters, to the performances, the storylines, are all just so fun to me. I like when my matches are really violent or atheletic. Flippy shit is cool. My favorite match of all time is Misawa vs Kobashi in 2003, and my favorite wrestlers are Will Ospreay and "Hangman" Adam Page.

Other hobbies I have are collecting plushies, building gunpla, and playing instruments extremely poorly.
